Our Story

Medellín Retreat is a sanctuary dedicated to nurturing your well-being. Established in 2021 by Fred Busch, a global yoga teacher with 25 years of experience, the retreat began as a humble educational center focused on yoga, meditation, and plant-based nutrition. In 2024, Carlos Chapman joined the team, and together, they expanded the retreat’s offerings to welcome guests year-round, creating a personalized wellness experience designed to inspire and support every guest, whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just beginning your journey.

At Medellín Retreat, we believe in the power of connection, to self, to nature, and to the community we’ve cultivated. We’re here to help you reconnect with your inner peace and tap into the healing energy that surrounds us. Our mission is to provide a place where guests can relax, restore, and rejuvenate, supported by our expertise, passion, and genuine care.

Our  Family

We’re not just a wellness retreat; we’re a family. The heart of our property lies in our  beloved rescue animals, including a lively family of five mini pigs, three horses, a cheeky mule, and five loyal dogs. These wonderful animals are a reminder of the love and harmony that permeate our land.

The beauty of our surroundings doesn’t stop with the animals. Our property is home to a springwater fed river that courses through the grounds as well as to a growing number of organic garden beds, with over 200 fruit trees that provide fresh, nourishing ingredients for our delicious plant-based meals.

Our ornamental gardens are a haven for butterflies and hummingbirds, creating an atmosphere of serenity and vibrancy.

Guests are also invited to indulge in our cold plunge pool and sauna, unwind in our arts and crafts zone, and even try their hand at archery—all designed to enrich your experience and offer something unique during your stay.
